Simply Alpa was created in 2011, turning a childhood hobby into a family business and has grown steadily since completing my Masters Certificate from Squires Kitchen International School of Cake Decorating and Sugar Craft in 2012.

I have exhibited numerous times at Cake International and Squires Exhibition, picking up a number of accolades which you can view in the gallery. I have also been featured in various cake and wedding publications.

My cakes are hand made, bespoke designed to order. My favourite part of the process is meeting couples and learning all about your special day and getting to know you . Consultations are so important in getting a feel for what your wedding means to you both so I can in turn create the perfect cake that will leave lasting memories for both you and your guests.

Some brides come to me with an idea of what they like and others don’t know where to start which is where I step in with suggestions!

This is why I hold consultations where we can discuss your wedding, pulling inspiration from the venue, invitations, the dress, a theme you might have and from a collection of magazines and books which I have lots of.  I then put together some sketches and prices from which we come to a final design.

If you are unable to make a consultation we can discuss the design via email and the phone as I am able to scan designs and email them across and tasting boxes can be posted.

Consultations are free, it allows you to come and have a chat without feeling the need to commit to a booking.

It doesn’t end there either, once a design has been discussed I will produce sketches and send this across for review and your approval.

Tasting's are usually held two or three times a year where I combine a tasting day with consultations or post a tasting box out to you where you are then able to sample the cakes in your own time at home. Tasting boxes are £25 (including postage and six flavours) which is taken off the final price unless you have paid a booking fee of £100 for a wedding cake in which case it is included.

The cake is delivered and set up on the day and all necessary arrangements made with caterers and the venue. Delivery is free for 10 miles after which there is a delivery charge of £1 per mile. I mainly cover Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Hertfordhire, London, Surrey, Northants and anywhere else if you are happy to cover the mileage.

When asked how much notice is required, I usually say as soon as possible after booking a venue. Dates can go quickly and I tend to only do one or two cake orders in one week so I can give it my full attention making sure the cake is perfect in every way.

A £100 booking fee which is non refundable is required to secure the date after which 50% of the final price is taken as a deposit with the balance required 5  weeks before the date. Most couples book at least 6 to 9 months before the wedding sometimes over a year in advance.
