About me
It started with a cake that I made for my sister a long time ago. That, together with my passion for art, started my sugar-craft and cake-making journey. Over the years, I made cakes for friends and family and the idea of setting up a business seemed an unrealistic dream. However, with the support of my husband and two boys (my trusted testing panel!), Simply Alpa was created.
From attending courses by some of the leading artists in the industry, reading many books and practising my skills, I discovered my joy for making sugar flowers, painting on cakes and creating delicate piped work. My skills have been pushed by entering competitions and gaining awards, which in turn, help to create perfect cake designs for my client. Learning never stops though, I am always working on learning new skills and refining the ones I have.
